Target Locked by Aman Karan is a compelling military thriller that combines psychological depth, political commentary, and heart-racing action. The protagonist, Marine Ryan Robinson, is caught in a complex web of federal charges, emotional loss, and battlefield trauma. As he fights both inner and external wars, the narrative unfolds a brutal yet poetic examination of the cost of duty, betrayal, and the human spirit.
Inspired by real-life dreams, emotional relationships, and war documentaries, the story emerges from the author's personal experiences and reflections—especially drawn from his time in Japan. The novel critiques the futility of modern war while paying tribute to soldiers across the world. A deeply human story wrapped in the intensity of global conflict, Target Locked is as much about survival as it is about sacrifice.
The preface offers a unique reflection on dreams, their psychological origins, and their inability to be consciously manipulated. The author shares how recurring dreams, memories of a dear Japanese friend “Etow san,” and emotional traumas led him to write this novel. He discusses war's impact on soldiers and civilians, questioning the morality of military conflicts driven by power, not purpose. The story, therefore, is both a tribute to soldiers and a critique of war itself.Dreams are, in fact, based on real events that we have en countered in our real life over a period of time. In one’s dreams, a person mostly finds a connection between numerous people, sundry objects, and happenings of life, TV shows and scenes, and so on that he or she has come upon and that have influ enced his or her life and emotions a great deal. Moreover, things might also appear in a person’s dream which have even fascinated the person’s attention to a degree. Contrary to the concepts of 2010 movie which unreasonably fancied and en dorsed sharing of dreams between people and manipulating and influencing dreams through some means, dreams are ac tually constructed around the persons by the events of his or her life when they are watching their dreams.
Obviously, I would like to thank a number of people who denied me a job and gave me a hard time in my life. Until they were stereotyped for rejecting me on numerous occasions of job-offers requiring a ‘silly’ recommendation, it was not possi ble for me to manage time, come up with interesting ideas, and hammer out this intriguing manuscript in its entirety. What I’d wanna say—every cloud has a silver liningThe author extends thanks to those who rejected him in life, which indirectly gave him the time and motivation to write this novel. Special appreciation is offered to Google, Wikipedia, and Integrity Education Publishers, whose tools and platforms enabled him to gather facts, settings, and publish the book. He acknowledges the importance of accessible information in shaping the depth of his storytelling.
